Soft and Fluffy Cinnamon Bun Rolls

Cinnamon Bun Rolls from Scratch
Ingredients
for the most ooey gooey and fluffy buns.
~Dough~
1 cup lukewarm milk
1/4 cup sugar
4 cups bread flour
1 and 1/2 teaspoons of salt
2 and 1/4 teaspoons of active yeast
1 egg
4 tablespoons of softened butter
~Filling~
3 teaspoons of cinnamon powder
1 cup of packed brown sugar
1/3 cup of softened butter
~Cream Cheese Frosting~
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
1/2 a stick of softened butter
1/2 a stick of cream cheese
- Over cinnamon Bun Rolls-
Heavy whipping cream
Prepping stage! the FUN part ;)
(Dough) In a medium sized bowl, proof your 2 and 1/4 teaspoons of active yeast in 2 tablespoons of warm water along with 1 teaspoon of sugar. When it is foamy and doubled in size, it is ready to use!
In a standing mixer large bowl, add 1 cup of lukewarm milk, 1/4 cup of sugar, 4 cups of bread flour, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of salt, proofed active yeast, 1 egg, and 4 tablespoons of softened butter.
Place mixer bowl in mixer and mix for about 10-15 minutes until well incorporated and the dough is tacky and smooth. The dough should come clean off of the sides of the bowl.
Place dough in a large bowl and cover.
Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it is doubled in size.
In a clean flat surface, spread bread flower evenly and place the dough on top
Roll dough in the flowered surface and roll out into a rectangle.
(Filling) In a small bowl, mix 3 teaspoons of cinnamon powder and 1 cup of packed brown sugar.
Get the 1/3 cup of softened butter and spread evenly on the dough.
Sprinkle the small bowl mix evenly on dough.
From the bottom of the dough, roll the dough up until it looks like a log.
Cut rolls into 1 and 1/2 inches.
Add rolls to a baking tray.
Spoon heavy whipping cream over the rolls just enough so they are covered.
Lay a clean damp towel over the rolls and proof.
While buns are proofing, Preheat oven to 400°F.
When rolls are proofed up, add the tray with the rolls to the oven.
Wait 18 minutes or until golden to take them out.
When the timer is up or the rolls are golden, take tray out and let cool for 15 minutes.
(Frosting) while waiting for the rolls to cool down, in a medium sized bowl mix with a spoon 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 1/2 a stick of softened butter, and 1/2 a stick of cream cheese.
Once the 15 minutes are up, add the cream cheese frosting and enjoy your freshly baked cinnamon bun rolls from scratch.
